The Chauke family has issued a statement regarding the tragic accident that claimed the life of their grandchild, Onthatile Gladys Chuene, and left their son and daughter-in-law hospitalized. This announcement follows Northern Academy’s expression of condolences to the family.
In their statement, the family confirmed the passing of Shebeshxt‘s daughter and requested privacy and time to cope with the devastating event.
“It is with deepest sorrow that we confirm our beloved son, Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, known to his fans and supporters as ‘Shebeshxt,’ was involved in a tragic motor vehicle accident on June 8, 2024. The accident unfortunately claimed the life of his beloved daughter, Onthatile, causing immense grief and shock as she was the angel that warmed all our hearts. In this time of mourning, we appeal for your empathy, consideration, and privacy to deal with this tragic news. Katlego is currently alive and in the hospital receiving medical attention.” – part of the statement reads.

Shebeshxt is reported to be in stable condition, despite suffering a broken leg, an abdominal fracture, and head injuries due to the accident.
